Established at the Royal Northern College of Music in 1985, the Apollo Saxophone Quartet set out to develop an original repertoire, drawing upon influences from a wide variety of cultures and disciplines, combining contemporary classical, jazz, folk and world music.
They celebrate 25 years of being together by creating a program with their favorite music, including Short Cuts, commissioned by the group to Luís Tinoco with funds made available by the Arts Council of England North West, and first performed at the Union Chapel, 1st December 2004 / Atlantic Waves Festival, in London.
