Upcoming projects for 2014

2014Following the CD release of “Round Time” on Naxos, with four works performed by the Gulbenkian Orchestra; and the World prèmiere of a Horn Concerto performed by Abel Pereira in the International Horn Symposium (US); Luís Tinoco is now engaged in two upcoming projects for 2014.
The first one is Frisland, a new orchestral work inspired by the music of the American jazz guitar player and composer Bill Frisell, commissioned by the Seattle Symphony for the “Sonic Evolution” series and to be premièred in June 2014 under the baton of Ludovic Morlot. The second one is the music for Lídia, a new ballet commissioned by the Portuguese National Ballet Company, to be premièred in November the same year with choreography by Paulo Ribeiro. The score for this new ballet inspired by the Orpheu’s generation and, particularly, by the writings of Ricardo Reis – one of the various heteronyms created by Fernando Pessoa – will be performed by the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Pedro Neves.
